Site Set Up Morning High Priority

Details

Major set up activities will be completed in the morning including the finish line, fencing, cones, signage and more.
Prep Elite Course (bring a leaf blower if you have one to remove/blow off debris)
Place/move traffic cones to mark course routes, especially on midway “track” (use Fairgrounds cones) and area between coliseum entrance and education building
Wear gloves.
We'll try to finish up no later than 11am.

Place a self serve water station in an area for runners to access prior to their events

Hand water to runners as they finish (all events: 1 Mile/Fun Run, 5K, Elite 5K)

Pick up cups/debris and place in trash containers
Clean up area at end of race and return supplies

5K Course Runner Support

On Course Water Station

Details

The on-course water station is position where runners will pass 3 times during the race. Volunteers will park in a lot off Shorefair Drive close to the water station location.
Wear sterile gloves (provided)
Fill water cups in advance of race
Hand water to runners as they pass by
Attend to any participants that appear to need assistance or medical treatment
Pick up cups/debris and place in trash containers
Clean up area at end of race and return supplies

This is a great job for seeing the race in progress! You will keep runners on the course and traffic off the course. Monitors will be assigned to needed locations to support the 5K race.

Spread out so both the front and back of the field are appropriately monitored

Details

This role involves helping to prepare and serve the post-race food and refreshments. Volunteers will clean up after serving is completed and make sure trash has been properly stored. Refreshments will include pizza and sub sandwiches from local restaurants and cut up fruit.
Ice down drinks ahead of time
Prepare food and drinks for serving
Replenish items as needed for participant access
Dispose of leftover food and food containers in trash bags
Clean up area at end of event and break down tables
Dispense wristbands to Guest Food/Drink ticket purchasers
